Prof. Jian-Ping Wang has been appointed to the newly established Hartmann Chair in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Hartmann chair was established by a generous gift from Robert F. Hartmannn who received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1965 and went on to found Altera Corporation in 1983, one of only two major FPGA companies in the world. Altera was recently purchased by Intel.  Previously, Prof. Wang held Centennial Endowed Chair Professorship. He is a Distinguished McKnight University Professor too.
