Congratulations to Mahdi Jamali and co-workers! Their joint work “Evaluation of spin waves and ferromagnetic resonance contribution to the spin pumping in a Ta/CoFeB structure” published in Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics was selected by the Editorial Board to feature in Highlights of 2016.

Patrick Quarterman is awarded the 2016-17 Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship.

Patrick Quarterman is awarded the 2016-17 Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship from the Graduate School. The fellowship supports his Ph.D. study for one academic year and provides a travel grant for him to present his work at a conference. Congratulations, Patrick!

Prof. Jian-Ping Wang appointed to Robert F Hartmann Chair

Prof. Jian-Ping Wang has been appointed to the newly established Hartmann Chair in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Hartmann chair was established by a generous gift from Robert F. Hartmannn who received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1965 and went on to found Altera Corporation in 1983, one of only two major FPGA companies in the world. Altera was recently purchased by Intel.  Previously, Prof. Wang held Centennial Endowed Chair Professorship. He is a Distinguished McKnight University Professor too.
